Nelson Hannah
Nelson Hannah is a writer with a pastor’s heart. For twenty-five years, his ministry has been personally focused on passionately seeking the Father’s heart and publically focused on making the Father’s heart know to this generation through the ministry of prayer, mentoring, counseling, writing, biblical teaching, and preaching. Presently, he is the founding and lead pastor of Eagle’s Wing Church in Gardendale, Alabama, which launched on September 11, 2011. This new congregation has grown from two to an average of eighty-five in attendance on Sundays. Nelson is leading this growing congregation to be a place of refuge, restoration, and relationship through relevant biblical preaching and by providing practical experiences for service in the communities that surround Eagle’s Wing Church.
Nelson has been married for thirty-seven years to Cathy. He is Amber’s father and Audrey Elizabeth’s grandfather.
He has served as the Pastor of Spiritual Development at Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon, Mississippi for 1 ½ years (3,000 members), and was the Minister of Pastoral Care for 12 ½ years at Gardendale First Baptist Church in Gardendale, Alabama (8,500 members). Prior to this, he has served as a Single’s Pastor, a Student Pastor, and an Associate Pastor in Alabama. Twenty-five years in ministry gives Nelson invaluable practical experience, deep insight into the struggles of the church, and a credible voice to speak to these with biblical solutions. As a pastoral counselor, he has ministered to hundreds of men, women, boys, and girls with spiritual issues that often short-circuit a deeper relationship with God.
Nelson is a graduate of Southeastern Bible College (B.A. in Pastoral Theology) and Beeson Divinity School (M. Div.), Samford University, both located in Birmingham, Alabama.
