Description
To all bar a few, the Guardian of Raedonleith is a mystery. To Lady Mykah, second daughter of King Lior, it’s her calling. For the past four years, the mask has given Mykah a way to care for her people in her father’s stead while she hides from them how distant their king has become. Never once has she questioned her mission nor thought the cost too high—until the night an arrow finds her. Though she has the courage of a knight and the calling of the Almighty, Mykah admits she would have died if not for the man who carried her to safety. A man who is as determined to keep his identity hidden as she is.
Six years ago, Sir Finnian lost his heart to a mysterious young archer. Though he searched, he never learned her name—until the night he shot her. On his brother’s orders. Wracked with guilt, Finnian makes protecting Lady Mykah his new mission, never guessing how difficult it will prove to be. The Guardian has more enemies than she knows, and they’re closer than she realizes.
The longer Finnian stays, the clearer the price of his vow becomes. Because the only way to win Mykah’s heart will be to break his own. And the only way to keep hers beating will be to break it altogether.

Exceptional! Guard Her Heart by Hannah Currie is an exceptionally well-written book that I thoroughly enjoyed! Guard Her Heart makes my childhood heart happy with a mix between fairytale, medieval knights and ladies, and the ever-present fight of good versus evil. I enjoyed the fast-paced plot, the strong characters, and the overarching themes of family, faith, and trust. I appreciated the strong protectors and defenders in this book, especially that of the Guardian of Raedonleith and those who protected Lady Mykah’s secret identity. Although this story is in a different setting and time, the issues and lessons the characters learned could be helpful to readers of today. I appreciated the whole package this book brought, great plot, adventure, strong and honorable characters, romance, faith, and so much more. Pick up Guard Her Heart by Hannah Currie to enjoy an excellent captivating tale!
Lady Mykah is passionate about helping others and does so under the cloak of the mysterious Guardian of Raedonleith. Even though she is a royal, Mykah is determined to help each part of her family’s kingdom, especially the hurting, the impoverished, and the helpless. One night Mykah’s nighttime mission is halted by an arrow to her shoulder, leaving her wounded and helpless in the forest. When a strange man finds Mykah and brings her to the healer’s cottage, Mykah not only is safe, but also her identity as the Guardian of Raedonleith is kept safe. Sir Finnian Cavendish is determined to keep his identity a secret from Mykah after bringing her safely to the healer’s cottage for more than one reason. Finnian had been tasked by his brother to confront and take out the Guardian of Redonleith, but Finnian was horrified when he discovered that the Guardian was not only a woman, but the beautiful young archer he had adored from afar many years ago. What makes the situation even worse is that the Cavendish family and King Lior’s family have been sworn enemies since Finnian had been old enough to understand. Finnian has always followed his brother’s commands without question, a true knight, yet upon this discovery of the Guardian’s identity and his brother’s uncaring, Finnian’s loyalties waver. Finnian’s guilt and integrity push him to seek a new quest, that of keeping Lady Mykah safe. Can Finnian keep Mykah safe and in so doing keep his own heart from breaking? Will King Lior and the royal family believe Finnian’s true motives? Can Finnian keep his brother from bringing more harm to the royal family? What will Mykah do when her role as the Guardian becomes under attack and all her life is thrown into upheaval? Read Guard Her Heart by Hannah Currie to discover the exciting adventures for yourself!
I have not yet read the first book in Ms. Currie’s Crown of Promise series, but I cannot wait to read more in this engaging series. It has been a refreshing change of read for me. I love the time of knights and royalty as well as the fantasy land of Redonleith. If you are looking for a book with a complex plot, a charming setting, strong characters, and more mystery, intrigue, and adventure than you would expect in one book, look no further than Guard Her Heart. Happy readings!

Hannah Currie’s writing continues to impress me with each novel she releases. Clean, sweet romances full of princesses, royal intrigue, and strength of character, Currie knows how to deliver a story that young adults and more mature audiences are certain to enjoy. I could hardly pull myself away from this story of Mykah and Finnian, whose journey was fraught with danger, mysterious family dynamics, and emotional discovery. Their story moved swiftly, leaving me both breathless and completely satisfied.
If you haven’t checked out Currie’s books, I highly recommend them. I know I am eagerly awaiting all future books from her!!!

Mykah and Finnian will steal your heart!
I loved this book. Once I got a few chapters in and the story started moving, I couldn’t put it down. Finnian’s struggles to be more than his past and to rise above his tainted family name were so relatable. Princess Mykah had equally relevant problems as she sorted through family hurts, prejudice, and the real source of her identity.
Guard Her Heart is a royal romance featuring knights and ladies in a fictional medieval kingdom. Fans of Melanie Dickenson’s Hagenheim series or Jody Hedlund’s medieval romances will adore this book. Though nothing struck me as inaccurate, the focus is on the characters more than the historical setting.
I appreciated the characters’ faith showing up in how they thought and spoke. Each POV character has a relationship with “the Almighty,” and the story is inspired by the Parable of the Good Samaritan. That said, the values displayed—courage, helping others, finding your purpose—are universal.
This is a clean romance. The love story grows from genuine affection and compatibility not just attraction. There are no lustful thoughts or struggles with self-control. The affection is chaste, focusing more on the character’s feelings than physical actions. Though it’s not marketed as YA, the content and romance are appropriate for teens.
You can read Guard Her Heart without first reading Bring Her Home, book one in the Crown of Promise series, but it contains many spoilers about that story. I can’t wait to read the third sister’s story—and find out her secret!—in book three.

Medieval romance worth the read
*This review is spoiler free*
Diving into “Guard her Heart” by Hannah Currie is like embarking on a captivating journey and I enjoyed every minute of it. As the next chapter in the Crown of Promise series, set against the medieval backdrop of Raedonleith, Hannah weaves a tale rich in intrigue, romance, faith and duty that grabs your attention from page one.
I was introduced to Lady Mykah in the first book in the series, Bring Her Home, (which I highly recommend by the way, and have already read twice) but it wasn’t until Guard Her Heart that we met the mysterious Guardian of Raedonleith, her alter ego. Mykah is a young woman who commands respect and displays empathy, navigating the complexities of her role as the Guardian as well as a daughter of the King. Mykah’s dedication to her kingdom, even amid serious injury and danger, provides a compelling glimpse into the trials of leadership and self-sacrifice. She grows through her struggles, learning to let go and to rely on and trust others and not doing everything by herself. And then of course being brave enough to be vulnerable and face the unknown and a future different than the one she imagined.
On the other hand, Sir Finnian, our handsome hero, serves as an intriguing counterpart to Mykah. Their dynamic, filled with witty exchanges and heartfelt letters, is both touching and engaging. As their relationship unfolds, it becomes a testament to the power of trust, mutual understanding, and shared challenges. He supports Mykah and shows her that there is more to her than meets the eye, even more than she sees in herself.
One of the standout features of the book is the Psalm that Hannah introduces at the beginning of each book. This addition not only establishes a spiritual foundation but beautifully ties into the deeper themes explored throughout the narrative. It resonates with a sense of unwavering love and devotion, showing us a glimpse of her heart for the characters.
For fans of the series, there’s a wonderful continuity in “Guard Her Heart”. The return of beloved characters like Lady Evangeline and Sir Darrek adds depth, providing readers with more insight into the world Hannah has created. And the glimpse into Lady Rose’s story that we are looking forward to in the next book.
The pacing of the story is well-handled. Hannah keeps readers engaged, with a story that is fast paced and full of surprises. She keeps the reader guessing, blending unexpected twists with deep character moments. As the story unfolds it reinforces the idea of faith and God’s plan at play in our lives.
In essence, “Guard Her Heart” was a fantastic read and I am very excited for the rest of the series. Hannah mixed the best bits of medieval story telling with love, duty, and faith. A must-read for those seeking a tale that resonates both emotionally and spiritually. Make sure to #GuardYourReadingTime because you won’t be putting this book down anytime soon!

Hannah Currie weaves an amazing tale full of strong characters, wonderful background, and a story that pulls the reader in from the first page to the last. It is almost impossible to put this book down once you start it. The character development is truly amazing, they leap off the page and into the room. You can feel the heart of Mykah, the determination and love of Finnian. They take the reader on a magical journey through a medieval setting full of danger, hope, and love. This is the second book of the Crown of Promise series and Hann ah Currie brings an even deeper story with this book. I loved getting to know Princess Mykah and her heart for the mission God gives her. It was so fun learning more about Finnian and his devotion to all that is good, even when it may put him at odds with family. A royal story worth every minute it takes to absord this delightful tale! Hannah Currie is a talented author who’s next book is already on my TBR pile. She blesses her audience with detailed descriptions and research, authentic characters, and enough danger to get the heart pumping through to the end of the story. I can’t recommend this book enough! I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Julia Monroe Begins Again is the debut novel of Rebekah Millet, and she completely swept me off of my feet with this story! From page one, I connected with Julia and her predicament of turning forty years old. She is such a kind, generous, witty, and faithful woman, I immediately decided she would be my book best friend. Julia, as well as all the other characters, are so realistic–both in their strengths and their flaws–that they are impossible not to fall in love with each and everyone, even Julia’s mother.
Prepare to snicker, belly laugh, cry, and swoon as you read this second-chance romance. It is an incredible story of learning forgiveness, moving forward, and listening to that still small voice. I loved watching Julia step into a new era of her life, even when it wasn’t easy or pretty, because her growth stretched my heart and made me look at turning forty in a much more flattering light.
Overall, this is one of my favorite contemporary romances of the year. I would highly recommend this book to all Christian contemporary romance lovers, especially those who enjoy books by Courtney Walsh or Becky Wade.

Guard Her Heart, by Hannah Currie was really good!
I had read the first book in the Crown of Promise series (Bring Her Home) and also loved it !
But the second book was, in my opinion even better 🙂
I loved how Hannah described the characters and how we were able to read the story from their points of view, and that we could switch from one to the other ! And not only the two main characters but other ones too ! I really enjoyed that.
It was really well written and I was deep in the story from the first page !
It was nice to hear about the characters from the first book and discover what happened to them after.
I can’t wait for the third book in this series to come out !

Doesn’t that quote just send warm fuzzies all through you? 🥰
It sure caught my attention.
I’m always up for a medieval romance, and I’d been waiting for Guard Her Heart for a whole year after reading and LOVING Bring Her Home, the first book in the series. So, I was honored to be included in the launch team for this book. (Thank you, WhiteCrown Publishing !)
Guard Her Heart was a really fun and lighthearted book to read, but it was also very heartfelt. Hannah Currie sends impactful messages through engaging and relatable characters Finnian and Mykah. I loved the way she explored their innermost desires and fears as they sought God’s will in their lives.
One of the best things about this book was Finnian and Mykah’s great romantic chemistry and fun banter. Fiery and devoted Mykah was an easy protagonist to get behind, and it was so fun to watch the charming Finnian – whom she’s determined not to fall for – pursue her. The inclusion of the anonymous letters they sent to one another also brought a tenderness to their relationship that I really enjoyed reading.
I think a lot of people will be able to relate to Currie’s characters as I did, and what better way to tell their story than with noble knights, royalty, and romance!
Overall, Guard Her Heart was a very fun read, and I can’t wait for the next book in the Crown of Promise series!

Mykah and Finnigan will be my new favorite couple. A clean medieval romance with a HEA.
The conflict that was between them seemed insurmountable. They trusted each other and the Lord to get through it.
She was the one job that he did not see coming.
I would recommend this book. It is book 2 to a series but could be read as a standalone in my opinion.
I received a complimentary digital copy from the Publisher but wasn’t required a positive review. This is my honest and unbiased opinion

Guard Her Heart
Crown of Promise #2
By Hannah Currie
Published by WhiteCrown
Lady Mykah feels the call to aid those who are in need. She has never questioned that. But she has kept her identity secret as she moves through the night, leaving aid at the door of those whose needs she knows. But Mykah has made an enemy, an enemy who seeks her death.
Sir Finnigan has long sought his elder brother’s approval. He’s never questioned the orders he’s been given until now. When Finnigan shoots and nearly kills the young woman who stole his heart years ago, he determines that his loyalty lies not with his brother but with the king and the young woman known as the Guardian of Raedonleith.
Determined to make amends for his actions, Finnigan rides to give warning and to win the heart of the lady who captured his heart years ago.
I really enjoyed this book, which is set in the time of knights and chivalry. It was interesting watching events unfold and seeing how the various characters were woven together. Even more so when saw events from differing perspectives. Who do you trust, and who do you hold at arm’s length. I liked Mykah, but I also felt her feelings about Finnigan were most interesting, considering her position on other matters. And I felt Finnigan showed a strength of character in both his dealings with his brother and his later efforts in Raedonleith. This is the second book in the Crown of Promise series but it can be read as a standalone title. I’m sure the first book provides information that would explain more about King Lior and Mykah’s sister Evangeline, but it could easily be read later to answer any questions that arise while reading.
I was provided a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion. All thoughts expressed are my own.

This is the second book in Currie’s Crown of Promise series, and tells the story of the middle daughter of King Lior, Mykah. It’s emotionally gripping in different ways than the first book, but still very hard to put down, and equally well-written. My only frustration is now I have to wait for the author to write the book about the third daughter!

Guard Her Heart by Hannah Currie was truly an enjoyment to read. It was beautifully well written and many sections tugged on my heartstrings. My favorite point of view in the book was King Lior. His love and wisdom, yet also sorrow and regret, concerning his daughters brought tears to my eyes. I loved Mykah’s sweet, irrepressible, and fiercely loyal nature. I absolutely loved Finnegan and his protection of and love for Mykah, but my favorite aspect by far was the development in Mykah and her father’s relationship. While this book can be read as a standalone, I would reccomend reading Bring Her Home for a clearer understanding of the family’s history.
